"I want to make sure my knowledge still reflects the world my children are inheriting"
I find myself headed in the opposite direction. The older I get, the more I'm interested in the long span of human history, and the idea that we probably haven't changed much for the thick end of a million years.
I like to think that half a million years ago, there was a group of friends and family sitting around a fire eating dinner, talking about what they got up to that day, and about their hopes and dreams, and I'd like to think that half a million years from now (assuming we make it that far) they'll be a group of friends and family sitting together doing more or less the same thing.
Thank you for a very interesting and enjoyable read
Thanks Brigitta
Really enjoyed this. Agree with the point about the value in a network of non-like minded people.
Happy new year, Richard.

Happy New Year John! I like to think that too :-)
